Jean Paul Gaultier described his spring 1995 collection as a collage of elegance, inspired by defining silhouettes from each decade of the 20th century. This cocktail dress is unmistakably fifties inspired with its nipped waist and full skirt -a style he particularly loved as it reappeared at his fall 1995 ‘Mad Maxette’ collection that year. For this version, though, he opted for a unique diagonally ‘bump’ ribbed technique for the fabric. Features unique detailing such as the full length exposed back zipper and decorative pocket ball zippers. The neckline and hem are trimmed in a synthetic organza.
