 Original surrealist red ‘hearts’ print skirt from one of Prada’s most collectible seasons. The spring 2000 collection is infamous most of all for its prints that adorned the most delicate silks and chiffons. The print is a nod to one of Miuccia Prada’s design inspirations, Yves Saint Laurent, whose own pop art ‘hearts’ print emerged in 1971. Miuccia Prada invited it into her surrealist vision, giving the print a new 3-dimensional quality.  
              
 The skirt is undoubtedly the most integral and intellectual garment in Miuccia Prada’s world. It often takes focus in her collections as she’s stated she puts all her ideas each season on the skirt. Prada believes the importance of the skirt is as a counterpart spiritual balance to the waist up. This garment is as much an art piece as it is a wearable piece of fashion history. 
        
The skirt features two decorative ribbon ties at the waist that can be tied or left to hang.

Condition notes-
A couple spots of discoloration. One of the snap buttons is loose and another is missing. One small area of tear / wear in the fabric. Professional repair recommended. These imperfections go unnoticed because of the busy print and pleating. All detected flaws are pictured.
