This particular piece translated directly from Yves Saint Laurent’s fall 1976 “Opéras - Ballets russes”  couture presentation, which featured near identical outerwear (button and collar arrangement being the variation), directly to his ready-to-wear collection. The comparison can be noted in the provided images which depict collection sketches and outtakes.
